"AT HOME" in The Grotto

My alarm went off at 5am.  Anyone that knows me will understand that is not the normal "get out of bed" time for me.  It's usually the "go to bed time."  Not this morning!  Excitement and curiosity is my fuel this morning!

So here it is... they actually have it online earlier than expected.  If you click on the magazine cover, it will take you to the magazine!

 

I've been waiting for this day since August of last year.  That's how long this article in the At Home Magazine has been in the works.  I met with Diane McNaughton in late August of last year and the articles she wrote about craft space and The Grotto are incredible.  I've been somewhat following her work ever since.  She is truly a talented writer.  Vince Cassaro was the photographer, he visited The Stamp Grotto in October of last year and was such a fun man and as you can see from the photos, also very talented.  I will never watch a professional sports event the same, thanks to Vince!

See Whatcha Got

My husband has officially called me a "ScrapRat" -- his phrase for a scrapbook pack rat or hoarder.

I've been wanting to organize my chipboard for some time now but wasn't sure how to make it organized but aestheticly pleasing and accessible.

Here is my solution:

I purchased a 3-drawer organizer similar to this at Michael's then on a trip to Linen's & Things purchased a bunch of drawer organizers.

After a few hours of work (Bradleigh has been home sick since Friday so we've been watching movies and relaxing.)

This is what it looks like now:

I'm thrilled to be able to see what I have at a glance and know that I can use these embellishments a little more efficiently in my classes & workshops.  I really need to stop being a hoarder ... or scrap rat as my husband so affectionately called me.

Each alphabet is sorted, tags, flowers, stars, circles etc. all have their own little tub.  Some tubs are stacked 2 deep but they are easily removed.  Isn't it beautiful?!
